March update 2026

Published Tue 31 Mar 2026

Senior Women:
With the season opener only a few weeks away, the excitement is definitely building. We kick things off with an away game on Saturday, 18 April at Drysdale. Our first home game follows soon after Lara V Bell Park on Friday, 24 April at 7pm at Bisinella Oval — the eve of Anzac Day. We’ll be holding a special pre match tribute to mark the occasion.
It would be fantastic to see a big crowd there to support the girls. Canteen & Bar will be open.

U18 Boys:
The Lara u18 boys continue to prepare for the start of the 2026 season. We have strong attendance at training and currently have 26 registered players.
We played our first practice game against Portarlington on 14th March. We were competitive in the game, with the boys executing the game plan well. We took a lot of positives away from the game and have built upon this in our training.
We have our next practice game planned for the 11th April at home against Inverleigh.

Juniors:
The countdown is on- we have so many junior footballers who cannot wait to take the field. Our season launch was a fantastic way to kick things off, it was so nice bringing the whole club together.  Pre season training has been going well and we have seen a lot of growth within the children's skills.
Our Under 10 and Under 12 girls teams are well into training, and it’s fantastic to see such strong numbers. Our Under 17 girls have also been training for a couple of months now, with a solid squad coming together. They’ll be in action this weekend at Leopold for a lightning premiership, which is an exciting opportunity for the group to hone their skills. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to secure enough players to field an Under 14 girls team this season. However, rebuilding this age group is a priority for us, and we’ll be working hard to bring them back next year
We are looking forward to supporting all our junior teams who take the field for the 2026 football season.
