Senior Best & Fairest- McIntyre/Mathieson Memorial

Gordon McIntyre was a member of the club in 1920's and 1930's. Not classed as a top player, but was always there to help out in any way he could, even if he didn't get to play. Gordon joined the Army in the Second World War and served overseas, but unfortunately, he did not return. In 1946, Allen Mathieson donated the trophy till his passing in 1989

Allen Mathieson commenced his long association with the Lara Football Club in 1926 as a player, where he played in 2 premierships. Records show that he was still playing football in 1947. In 1940 Allen became Vice President, a position held until 1964. In 1992 a motion was moved by Peter Kelly to rename the Senior Best & Fairest to the McIntyre/Mathieson Memorial. The motion was seconded and carried and has been donated by Peter Kelly ever since
