TEAM SMITH

Devon Smith's name has been used for one of our junior teams. Devon grew up in Lara and was recruited from our club to join the Geelong Falcons TAC Cup team. From there, he was drafted at pick number 14 in 2011 to join the Greater Western Sydney Giants. Devon's AFL career began here, playing 109 games for the Giants. He received a Rising Star nomination in his debut year and was also awarded the Giants Standards Award at the 2013 Kevin Sheedy Medal.

Devon then moved to Essendon after the 2017 trade period. His career is continuing strongly at Essendon with over 100 games played and over 100 goals kicked to date. Devon proudly wears the number 5 guernsey for Essendon
