Founds family
Bill Founds began playing for the Lara Football Club in 1934, winning the Best & Fairest in his very first season. Bill's final year of playing was in 1952, he was able to finish his playing career on high when he captained and coached the side to a premiership.
Once his boots were hung up, Bill continued his involvement with the club by joining the committee. Bill filled the roles of Vice President from 1948-1953, then became President from 1954-1960.
Bill was awarded a Life Membership in 1957 and this was followed by an induction into the Inaugural Hall of Fame as a "legend"
Dorothy Founds was a tireless worker for the Lara Football Club during the 1940's, 50's and 60's. Dorothy was a leader of the Ladies Auxiliary that organised events such as Smoke nights, fundraising and serving afternoon tea. Also washing, drying and repairing playing jumpers. Dorothy received Life Membership in 1961
