LSC Football Section: History

We are over 100 years old, established in 1881. Up to 1988, Lara won seven premierships in various leagues, including the Geelong and District Football Association. We joined the Geelong Football League (GFL) in 1989. GFL premierships: 1994 and 2002. Runners-up: 1992, 1993, 1995 and 2000. Proudly, many senior players are products of our junior system Current and former AFL players include Allen Christensen, Josh Walker, Devon Smith, twins Michael and Nigel Kol, brothers Damien and Marty Christensen and Jack Walker. We have many teams playing with GFL and GJFL competitions: Senior (men and women’s) and reserves sides along with junior boys and girls teams: Under 9’s through to U19 Colts, Auskick and an All-abilities team. This represents more than 500 players at the club.
