January update 2024

Published Wed 31 Jan 2024

We hope all LSC Football members, supporters, players, coaches, staff and volunteers had a great Christmas and new year season.

Your football club senior and junior committees continue preparations for 2024. As usual, this is among our busiest times, organising players, coaches and volunteers for the many teams we expect to field across boys and girls, and men’s and women’s competitions, along with the planning that goes into the season. We expect to have good numbers again this year, but always encourage new players to come and join us at training, particularly Auskick participants and juniors who may want to try the game.

One of LFNC’s most popular initiatives in recent years has been the supply of training singlets to every registered football player across the club from U/9s to Seniors, for boys and girls. We will refresh our training tops this year, but this time provide t-shirts rather than singlets. We expect to receive stock later in February. Thanks to each of our sponsors for their support.

The senior men’s squad returned to training last week, with women’s and junior boys/girls sides to begin from February. Keep an eye out on our social media pages for more information about practice matches, as well as our season launch closer to our first matches.

AFL Barwon recently released 2024’s senior men’s fixture. Our first game of the year will be away to North Shore on 13 April. In round 3 on 28 April, we will host our traditional ‘Spirit of ANZAC’ game against Grovedale at Bisinella Oval. After a great contest last year, this should be another very entertaining match and we hope to see as many of you as possible down to commemorate our past service men and women and support our team.

For those who will take the field this season, player registrations are now open on PlayHQ. You can register for season 2024 by following the link below and  we will post on our FB page also

What a successful day we had  at the LSC for our All Ablilities Clinic. We had approx. 15 children in attendance and they had so much fun. Thankyou to all the volunteers that made this clinic happen
