1. Who can attend DSQ events?
Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, Auslan users, CODAs, family members, and community supporters of all ages are welcome at DSQ events. Some events may have age or skill requirements — these will be outlined in event information.
2. Do I need to be a DSQ member to attend events?
Most events require DSQ membership for participation and insurance coverage. However, some open community events or Come & Try Days may allow non-members — this will be clearly advertised.
3. Are events Auslan-accessible?
Yes. All DSQ events are Auslan-accessible and designed to be inclusive for Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants.

5. Do I need to register for events?
Yes. Registration is usually required to ensure participant safety, manage numbers, and organise appropriate support (e.g., Auslan access, safety boats). Event details will include registration instructions.
6. Can I bring my own equipment to events?
Yes, for Social Sailing and Social Paddling Days, participants are welcome to bring their own sailboat, kayak, canoe, SUP, or windsurfing gear — provided it meets basic safety requirements.
7. What if I have never sailed or paddled before?
Our Social Sailing and Paddling programs are beginner friendly. No prior experience is needed unless stated otherwise for specific events.
8. What if the event is cancelled due to weather?
We will communicate cancellations or postponements via email, SMS, or social media. Please check the latest updates before attending.
9. Are event fees refundable?
No. Event fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in the event information.
