A Deaf-Led Community Connecting Deaf and Hard of Hearing Sailors Across Queensland.
Deaf Sailing Queensland (DSQ) is a Deaf-led, community-driven organisation dedicated to promoting sailing opportunities for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Auslan users of all ages and skill levels.
We believe sailing builds confidence, fosters friendships, and empowers individuals through adventure and teamwork — all within a fully accessible, language-rich environment led by Deaf role models and community leaders.
We also promote participation in a variety of watersport activities including paddling, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddling, and other adventure water activities, giving Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants more ways to connect with their community on the water.
Our active programs are proudly supported by the Play Our Way Grant, Deaf Connect, and other community and government grants. This support enables us to grow participation, invest in Deaf leadership, and promote inclusion within the sailing community across Queensland.
