Social Watersport Activities – Paddling Program

Inclusive, Auslan-Accessible Stand-Up Paddling, Kayaking & Canoeing for All Ages and Experience Levels

Deaf Sailing Queensland (DSQ) offers regular Social Paddling Days for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Auslan users, CODAs, families, and community supporters.

Our Social Paddling Program is a relaxed, community-focused way to enjoy the outdoors, build confidence on the water, and connect with others — all within a safe, Auslan-accessible environment.

 

Who Can Join?

  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals of all ages

  • Auslan users and CODAs

  • Families and community supporters

  • Beginners and experienced paddlers — all welcome!

 

What We Offer

  • Social Paddling Days
    These relaxed group sessions are open to all skill levels and include a variety of paddling activities:

    • Stand-Up Paddling (SUP)

    • Kayaking

    • Canoeing

  • You are welcome to bring your own stand-up paddleboard (SUP), kayak, or canoe to join the sessions.

  • Family-Friendly Paddling Events
    A perfect way to enjoy a day on the water with family and friends.

  • Come & Try Paddling Days
    Designed for beginners who want to experience Stand-Up Paddling, Kayaking, or Canoeing for the first time in a welcoming environment.

  • Group Paddling with Auslan-Accessible Support
    Enjoy paddling together with guidance from Deaf or Auslan-fluent leaders — with a focus on fun, safety, and community connection.
