Deaf Sailing Queensland (DSQ) proudly offers Auslan-accessible Children’s Sailing Courses in partnership with Humpybong Yacht Club and Australian Sailing-accredited instructors.
Our programs are designed for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Auslan users, CODAs, and siblings — providing children and teenagers with a safe, supportive environment to learn sailing skills, make friends, and build confidence on the water.
Our Courses

Tackers 1 – Having Fun
A beginner course for children aged 7–12, focusing on the basics of sailing, fun on the water, and confidence-building in a safe, supervised setting. -
Tackers 2 – Tricks & Techniques
For children who have completed Tackers 1, this course builds on basic skills with more advanced sailing techniques and teamwork activities.
