Social SailingDay
Join Deaf Sailing Queensland (DSQ) for a social sailing day at Woody Point.
Our social days are a great opportunity to get out on the water, practise your sailing skills, meet other Deaf and hard of hearing people, and enjoy a relaxed day together.
Beginners and experienced participants are welcome. Activities offered on the day will depend on weather and water conditions, equipment availability and participant experience.
Location
Humpybong Yacht Club
236 Hornibrook Esplanade
Woody Point QLD 4019
Please meet the DSQ group on the beachside of the clubhouse.
Cost
$10 per person, per visit.
Members who have prepaid their annual social fees may use one of their 12 included social activity visits.
What to Bring
Please bring:
- Shoes that can get wet or aqua shoes
- Towel
- Long-sleeved rashie or shirt
- Board shorts or suitable clothing that can get wet
- Hat or cap with a chin strap
- Sunglasses with a head strap
- Sunscreen
- Filled water bottle
- Dry clothes and shoes to change into afterwards
- Any personal items you may need
Personal flotation devices (PFDs) will be worn as required or instructed. Lifejackets will be provided, so you do not need to purchase or bring your own.
Weather & Activity Changes
Sailing activities are dependent on weather, tides, water conditions, safety considerations and equipment availability.
Activities may be changed, postponed or cancelled if conditions are unsuitable. Registered participants will be contacted if there are any significant changes.
Social activity fees are non-refundable. If a scheduled DSQ social sailing day is unable to proceed, a catch-up activity day will be offered.
