Diving With URGQ

General Dive trip Information and Making Dive Trips
URGQ brings together qualified skippers, boat towers and most importantly spirited members with a similar passion to go diving. This is done both on a long term (yearly plan) and also via shorter term planning throughout the year, which takes into account the current predicted weather conditions (most importantly), and the availability of spirited members.
Information on Dive Trips:
Our URGQ dive calendar is available for members on the EVENTS web page and put up on the notice board at the club house. Our Dive Captain is responsible for organising the diving calendar, however any member can and is encouraged to help organise these dive trips.
Day Trips
Would you like to organize a day out on Diver 1?
All you need to do is check the events calendar, organize a few details and then pass that information onto the Dive Captain or Club Secretary (or another committee member if they are not available), simple!
Wednesday nights at the Club house are a fantastic time to chat with other members and plan a day out for the coming week. For dives requiring the use of our vessel Diver 1, you will need to have a club approved skipper and boat tower available to make the trip. See members or the Dive Captain to help with this.

Remember, the club is based on the spirit of our members. Members come to dive, but stay because many inspiring hands build a great club.
Weekend or Week-away Trips
Want to organise a longer dive trip? Let the Dive Captain know that you want to organise a trip and they will create one on the EVENTS page. They will also assign you an admin for that event so that you can provide relevant information particular to the trip. You can also email members to advertise your trip. It is important that you do it this way on a club basis so that EVERYONE gets the email and only current members can sign up. Information about the trip will also be displayed on the notice board at the club house.
You may wish to liaise with other members who have a communal wealth of knowledge of the local sites, season and weather conditions and most probably, plenty of experience diving the sites before.
