Aoraki Dragons is the driving force behind dragon boating across New Zealand’s South Island. As the Regional Sports Organisation, we’re passionate about growing the sport, supporting our clubs, and creating unforgettable experiences both on and off the water.

From first-time paddlers to elite athletes, we provide the boats, equipment, expertise, and opportunities that help our dragon boating community thrive. Based in Christchurch, with strong dragon boating communities in Marlborough and Otago, Aoraki Dragons connects paddlers from right across the South Island. Together, we’re building a welcoming and inclusive community where friendships are forged, confidence grows, and every race is an adventure.

As a proud affiliate of the New Zealand Dragon Boat Association (NZDBA), and through our connections with the OceaniaDragon Boat Federation (ODBF) and International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF), we offer pathways for paddlers to compete and succeed at regional, national, and international levels.
