To become accredited to Level 2, the trainee must pass the written test at the end of this theory session (and also complete the practical assessment - see Events).

In this sweep theory session, the trainer will run through a presentation covering:

• Explanation of the accreditation process and Sweep levels.
• Safety - Numbering off, the buddy system, capsize procedure.
• Skills requirements for Sweeps including balancing the boat, racing, dealing with wind.
• 2k racing rules and Sweeping skills.

The session finishes with an open book multi-choice test, of 20 questions. The candidate must score over 90% (that is, a minimum of 18 correct answers). If required, a reader may assist a candidate.
