Rainbow Warriors

Rainbow Warriors is Ōtautahi's LGBTQIA+ dragon boat team, welcoming people of all genders and our allies to experience the thrill, power, and camaraderie of dragon boat racing. Every training is a chance to challenge yourself, build lasting friendships, and be part of something bigger.

Last season was our biggest yet. Our whānau doubled in size, and our two crews delivered an incredible performance at the South Island Championships, bringing home five gold medals and one silver. It was a season of growth, determination, and unforgettable moments on and off the water.

Now, we're gearing up for an even bigger season and we'd love you to be part of it. Whether you're an experienced paddler or sweep, or you've never set foot in a dragon boat before, you'll be welcomed, supported, and encouraged every step of the way. Guided by our values of Manaakitanga, Whanaungatanga, and Kotahitanga, we paddle hard, celebrate together, and lift each other up.
