To All Club Members,
The Clean Up Grant is doing its final clean up at Amity Point on Stradbroke Island. The plan is to take up to 16 persons for the trip.

Dates: Friday 29th to Sunday 31st of May

Times: 4:30pm ferry on Friday and the return ferry on Sunday at 5:30pm

Accomodation:  

  • 12 people will stay at Ken’s House and the other 4 will be staying at other accommodation. This has already been arranged. 
  • BYO sheets & pillows

Diving:

  • The dive plan is to use Diver 1 for single dive trips x 2 on the Saturday and Sunday, consisting of 8 divers and 2 surface watches (this includes a skipper). 
  • While the boat is doing the dives, we would like all other divers to do a clean up dive around the Amity point pool enclosed netting area and pier. On the return of the boat, the next group will go off to do a dive on Diver 1, while those returning can do a blow off with their remaining air to do a bit of a clean up in the same area. 
  • We will need skippers who are comfortable with the bar crossing, it will be an incoming tide for this weekend.
  • If you have your own tanks, feel free to bring them along and we can use balance of tanks from Ken’s. Tanks will be refilled on the island. 

Transport: Anton will tow the club boat, while Phil has offered to use his ute for transfer of equipment and Ken will be using his troopy to ferry the group around the island, as well as the ferry trips. 

Cost: The cost of the trip is $80 per person, which covers accommodation and ferry tickets. Plus a dive ticket per dive off the club boat. 

Packing: I would like all those attending, to come to the club on the Wednesday night before departure to help load up equipment for the weekend.

Food:

  • Sort your own Friday night dinner. Pub??? 
  • We will do a communal dinner on Saturday where we bring our own meats and a small salad to share with the group. Remember there is only one fridge in the house.
  • There is takeaway available on the island.
