We are NOW offering the online "Short-Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency" (SROCP) to all paid members. After filling places with the orginal group we have one place remaining. First in wins.
You generally need a
Short Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (SROCP) in Australia if you operate a marine VHF radio. We view this as valuable for any member now that our skippers have accessed. When you are on the boat during surface interval you are considered a surface watch and it is perceivable that knowledge on how to use the radio could be useful.
If you are interested in taking the one remaining spot, part of the cost will be subsided by the grant and each participant will be required to contribute $80 which will entitle participants to enrol in the SROCP course, and after passing and providing evidence of completion of the final exam you will receive a bonus Dive Ticket worth $30 (single ticket).
Important notes • Course access and assessments are non-transferable • Assessments must be scheduled within the 12-month period from the time we purchased the vouchers. • Refunds cannot be issued for assessments not booked within that timeframe • In the unlikely event a participant needs to resit, the relevant assessment and OMC fees would be payable for any future attempt.
Once payment is received, each participant will receive their own login details and can progress independently.
The course must be completed by 5/3/2027. We would be encouraging members who sign up to complete the course as soon as reasonable.
