Hi all

We are planning a dive plus social day on Australia Day 26th Jan (Sunday) at the Tangalooma wrecks.  We will leave from the Scarborough boat ramp.

Shanon is bringing his boat as well now.  He will bring the club’s gazebo and a small bbq to cook some lunch.   The plan is to snorkel in the morning, relax in the beach and then have a single dive at the change of tide later in the day, and spend the rest of the day enjoying the local amenities.

Meet at the club house at 7am.  Boat ramp at Scarborough at 8am.  Remember your snorkel for diving and snorkelling.  What to bring?  As per usual diving equipment, sunscreen, hats, long sleeve shirt, sand castle building equipment? and food and drinks.

Food and drinks:   Due to a few changes, I'll be arranging the food and drink for the day and just split costs between participants.

For those that haven’t dived Tangalooma, it’s a shallow dive up to 13m deep, basically north south with a lot of shallow stuff towards the northern end and some deeper sections in the middle and to the south.  There are plenty of fish species and some reasonable swim throughs between the dredges and even some interesting ledges to check out.  Usually plenty of schooling trevally in the middle section and maybe a Qld grouper.  Possibly a large white spotted Wedgefish (shovel nose) or two.  Large flathead. Wobbygong.   Plenty of large props and a large moving rudder to see underwater.  It will be busy on the day with plenty of divers and snorklers in the water and everyone will need to stay a good distance from the Micat landing zone which we will highlight on the day.
If you have any suggestions or wish to discuss, feel free to give me a call.

Cheers
Adrian
