Like most sports, there is inherent danger and possibility of injury. Whilst sailing is generally a very safe sport, there is some risk of exposure to weather conditions, entrapment, collision between boats, equipment failure, or drowning. Every effort is made by the club coaches and instructors to minimise this risk. By participating in club activities you are automatically covered by the Australian Sailing insurance scheme if you are a financial member of the club. Nevertheless, you acknowledge that Port Kembla Sailing Club Co-op Ltd, its members and directors' liability extends only as far as acts of negligence as contained in relevant legislation. You also acknowledge that you will follow any reasonable direction given by instructors or club officers acting in that capacity.

The club is offering instruction on how to sail various off-the-beach dinghies. Participants, therefore, need to have good mobility, be fit and have reasonable strength. For more information, this video illustrates some of the activities we'll be involved in: 

In the event of conditions being unsuitable for sailing, alternate on-shore activities will be provided and where this may not be possible, make-up weeks will be offered where practicable.
