About GHPC

💛

 A club to grow with

Gillieston Heights Physical Culture is a not-for-profit community club run by volunteers and was established in 2023.

We have created a club where girls and women learn, move, make friends and grow together.

From our youngest Glitter Girls taking their first steps into Physie to our older girls, Seniors and Ladies, GHPC is a place where everyone has their own part to play.

Some members love performing. Some love learning new skills. Some thrive on competition. Some come for the friendships and the fun.

There’s room for all of it here.

More than just a class

Physie is what brings us together, but club life is about so much more than what happens during class.

It’s the little girls watching the older girls.

It’s seeing a nervous beginner become more comfortable each week.

It’s the friendships that grow over time.

It’s cheering each other on at competitions and performances.

It’s celebrating the little wins, learning from the hard days and being proud of how far you’ve come.

And it’s having a group of people who know your name and are happy to see you each week.

Growing together

One of the things we love about GHPC is that our members can grow through the club.

A little girl can start in Glitter Girls, move through the age groups, become one of the older girls in the club and eventually step into Seniors and Ladies.

The younger girls get to look up to the older girls, while the older girls get to become role models for those coming behind them.

And our Ladies are still part of the same club, learning, moving, performing and enjoying Physie alongside everyone else.

You don’t have to outgrow your club.

💛

A home we’re proud of

GHPC is lucky to call the Gillieston Heights Community Hub home.

And it’s a pretty special home for a Physie club.

The Hub is a modern community facility right here in Gillieston Heights, with two activity rooms that give our members dedicated spaces to learn and move.

Both rooms provide plenty of space for our classes, while the Hub’s air conditioning means our members can train comfortably throughout the year.

For families, there are also practical things that make a difference: onsite parking, accessible amenities, a parents’ room, landscaped grounds and an enclosed outdoor area.

There’s a welcoming foyer, a bright modern feel and spaces designed to be used by the local community.

For GHPC, it means our members get to walk into a venue that feels like a proper home for their sport.

A place where our youngest girls can take their first Physie steps.

Where routines are learnt, practised and perfected.

Where our older girls can train, perform and become role models.

Where our Ladies can continue doing something they love.

And where families can come together each week as part of their local community.

We’re proud to have a home that reflects the experience we want GHPC to provide.

 💛

Why Gillieston Heights?

We love being a local club.

Our members come from Gillieston Heights, Maitland and surrounding areas, and having our home right here in Gillieston Heights makes GHPC part of the community we live in.

We want families to have a place close to home where their girls can dance, move, make friends and keep coming back as they grow.

It’s local.

It’s welcoming.

And it’s a place where people can become part of something.

What matters to us

We want every member to feel welcome when they walk through the door.

We want girls to be encouraged to have a go, work towards their own goals and enjoy the process of learning.

We want our younger members to have older girls to look up to.

We want our older girls to have opportunities to lead, encourage and become role models.

And we want our Ladies to have a place where they can keep learning, moving and being part of the club.

Not everyone joins Physie for the same reason, and that’s okay.

There’s no single way to experience GHPC.

You can compete.

You can perform.

You can focus on learning.

You can come for the friendships.

You can simply love moving to music each week.

Whatever brings you through the door, there’s a place for you here.

From your first class to everything that comes after

Maybe you’ve never heard of Physie before.

Maybe your daughter has never done dance or sport.

Maybe you’re looking for something new for your child.

Or maybe you’re an adult who would love to give Physie a try.

You don’t need to know all the steps before you start.

You don’t need to know anyone.

And you don’t need previous Physie experience.

Just come along and see what GHPC is all about.

We’d love to welcome you.
