- Wombats Hockey Club is a community-based field hockey club in Albury/Wodonga. We welcome players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners through to competitive athletes.

| When was Wombats Hockey Club established? |
- Our club was founded in 1979 and has been proudly part of the Albury/Wodonga hockey community ever since. You can learn more about our history on the About page.

| What competitions does Wombats Hockey Club play in? |
- We compete in the HockeyAW Association competitions, which include junior, senior, and social hockey.

| Do you have both junior and senior teams? |
- Yes, we have teams for juniors, seniors, and social players, offering pathways from beginner to representative levels.

| What age groups can join Wombats Hockey Club? |
- We cater for players from 5 years old through to adults. The Hookin2Hockey program is perfect for beginners under 10.

| Do you have mixed-gender teams? |
- Sometimes, depending on member numbers at specific age groups we may offer mixed junior teams. Social mixed competitions occur over the summer months. Men’s and women’s senior teams are gender specific.

| How much are the registration fees and what do they cover? |
- Fees vary by age group and can be found on our Membership page. This includes a breakdown of Hockey Australia Insurance and Club Membership. Details are updated annually. Did you know that first year juniors don’t pay club fees at Wombats!!

| What equipment do I need to start playing hockey? |
- All players need a stick, and it is recommended to wear shin guards, and a mouthguard. Juniors are required to wear shin guards and a mouthguard at all times when on the field. We can provide advice on affordable starter kits.

| Does the club provide uniforms? |
- Yes, Wombats Hockey Club provides full uniforms, with the exception of socks which can be purchased through the Merchandise page.

| Does Wombats Hockey Club offer representative hockey opportunities? |
- Yes, talented players can progress from club teams into Albury/Wodonga representative squads and beyond. The Australian womens goalkeeper, Jocelyn Bartram, started as a junior at Wombats Hockey Club!
