Come and Play!

Each summer, hundreds of local families play in our Teeball + Softball competition every Saturday at the one location – Abbott Road Diamonds, North Curl Curl.

In 2025/26, we had over 45 teams playing across 11 grades, split into junior and senior competitions.

Here's how our Summer Competition is organised:

  • MWSA’s summer competition begins in October and ends in March, with a 6/7 week break for the summer holidays.
  • All matches are played on Saturdays at one location, Abbott Road Diamonds, North Curl Curl.
  • We schedule teeball, modball and junior games in the morning and senior games in the afternoon.
  • Teeball (girls and boys ages 5+) – a simplified form of softball where players hit off a Tee to further develop their skills. Games are 75 minutes and teams can have 7+ players.
  • Modball (girls and boys aged up to 11) – a bridge between Teeball and Softball with modified rules. Live pitching is introduced, however a Tee will still be used if there has been no hit from a live pitch. Games are 75 minutes and teams usually have 9 - 12 players.
  • Junior Softball (girls and boys aged 12 - 18) – different divisions depending on skill and experience, our Junior Softball competition incorporates traditional softball rules. Games are 90 minutes.
  • Senior Softball (women) – different divisions depending on skill and experience. Games are 90 minutes.

In addition, we offer a mixed Slow Pitch competition (16+) across shorter seasons.

From time to time, there are also opportunities for ladies to learn softball skills in a social setting one evening during the week.

Our competition has a grade or division to cater for almost everyone – the mature, the very young, the novice and the experienced. There is great comradery amongst all our players both on and off the diamond - come and see for yourself!

Registration

To play in the MWSA Summer season you need to register with an MWSA club.

Please contact MWSA Clubs directly for more information including training days and times.

The team selection and grading process is an important step as clubs and the MWSA aim to make sure players get the best opportunity to develop and enjoy the competition. Once registrations are received, clubs form and submit proposed teams to MWSA. MWSA then determines the structure of the competition for that season based on the teams submitted.
