Playing, coaching, scoring or umpiring are just a few of the ways you can be involved with Manly Warringah Softball.

Whether you are in primary school or masters age, new to the sport or returning from a break there are opportunities for you to be a part of the community.

Umpiring Games

Anyone in the softball community can be an umpire and it's never too early or too late to start.

MWSA will provide a Junior Blues program for the 2026 / 2027 season. There are also Learn to Umpire sessions on offer prior to the Junior Blues program starting.

Learn to Umpire

In the first session you can learn about Plate Mechanics and in the second session, Base Mechanics plus ask about any softball rules!

Junior Blues

There are three 4-week blocks that you can join:

Two x 4-week blocks before summer break
One x 4-week block after summer break

The first block commences Round 2 (17 October)

If you are already a Junior Blue or an accredited Level One, we encourage you to join our intermediate program. We will help prepare you for progression to Level 2 and above.

Coaches and team managers are an invaluable part of our game day and we are always looking to grow the number of coaches and managers amongst out volunteer base.

Coaching Clinic 6-7pm

MWSA is running a Coaching Clinic at Abbott Road Diamonds to support our club coaches and help build coaching capability across the Association ahead of the new season. The clinic is open to existing coaches, new coaches, assistant coaches and anyone considering getting involved in coaching.

Beginner / Level 1 Scoring

This session is different to the RevSport session being offered. We will cover the basic mechanics of scoring (not the input of results to RevSport)

Volunteering

MWSA appreciates any help that our supporters are able to offer.

We have regular Working Bees to maintain the Abbott Road grounds and at every MWSA event we need lots of helpers to prepare the fields, run the canteen or assist each team with their enquiries throughout the day.

Our next Working Bee is 9am–12pm, Sunday 13 September

Working with Children Check (WWCC)

The Working with Children Check (WWCC) is a requirement for anyone who works or volunteers in child-related work in NSW.

It involves a National Police Check (criminal history record check) and a review of reportable workplace misconduct.

If approved, a WWCC is granted for 5 years before it must be renewed.
