Overview
Clubs often have worthwhile projects or ideas that get put aside because of cost or other barriers. This grant is designed to help clubs take the first steps towards making those ideas happen. Projects can cover a wide range of activities, provided they are designed to benefit students.
Applications will be open for one month and assessed on 23 November. Clubs may apply for any amount. La Trobe Sport will determine the funding awarded for each project and may approve the full amount requested, part of it or none of it. Clubs will need to provide evidence that they are contributing their own funds, although there is no minimum contribution.
The grant is intended to support a broad range of ideas. Examples include:
- Student leadership development: Training committee members, student coaches or club members in areas that will help them contribute to the club.
- Student tournaments: A club-run, one-day tournament that gives students the chance to participate for free.
- Inclusive participation: A fund to help students facing barriers to participation, such as covering equipment costs or supporting their continued involvement.
- Facility improvements: Changes to club facilities that remove barriers to participation or make it easier for students to get involved.
- Student officiating programs: Training and resources to encourage students to officiate and support the club’s weekly activities.
- Equipment libraries: Durable equipment that students can borrow for training or competition, helping reduce the cost of getting started.
