Adult Learn to Sail Courses

Adult learn to sail classes are run in our fleet of Puffin Pacers, usually for 3 or 4 Saturday mornings in a row.

The Puffin Pacers are an ideal boat to learn the basics and develop the skills of sailing, suited to 2 Adults. These boats have the same setup as any with two sails, including most yachts - and therefore provide beginners with a perfect platform to learn.

We keep the classes down to 3 or 4 boats to ensure an optimal & enjoyable learning experience. 

In order to register for a course, go to the events page to view upcoming courses:

• select the desired course
• then click "Register" 
• if you do not have an Australian Sailing number ... click "Sign Up" and then click  "New Member"
• follow the prompts and fill in your details 
• then you have a choice to either become a full member for the season, or use a free "Sail Pass" for the course
• follow the prompts through to completion
• you will recieve an email confirming your registration including notes on what to bring.

We may be able to put a custom package together for a small group.

Crewing on a Yacht

At Avalon we run Yacht Races on Sundays throughout the season; September - April with a break from Christmas to the end of January.

Members of the public are welcome to visit us on any Sunday, and if you are looking to crew the best time is to vist is around 4pm when the "yachties" arrive back at the club after racing. You'll find skippers & crew on the verandah enjoying a cool drink from the bar and enjoying the sunset over Pittwater.
