Women's VP's Welcome

Welcome to UNSW Hockey Club!

As one of the biggest clubs in Sydney with 12 women's teams across two competitions,  Sydney Women’s Hockey League  (SWHL) and Sydney Eastern Hockey Association (SEHA) UNSW Hockey Club is open to all ages and abilities - you just have to be keen to play!

We are lucky enough that we have highly compettive and successful teams in both SWHL and SEHA but don't take ourselves too seriously that we can't have the occasional boogie.

Games are played on Sunday's across a number of pitches in Sydney including our home base of Daceyville.

Even though we are a University based club, anyone can join UNSW Hockey Club with a majority of our players from the community or alumni.

If you have any quesitons please don't hesitate to reach out via the contact us form.

We post more regular updates on our social media so make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

Hope to see you around the pitch soon!

Courtney Krahe,

2023 Women’s Vice President

Teams

UNSW Hockey Club is based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and welcomes female players of all skills and levels. We generally enter 9 – 11 women’s teams across 2 competitions - both are competitive, social and very friendly.

We have 5 teams that compete in the Sydney Womens Hockey League (SWHL) – Metro (ML or Met) 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 Divisions. ML1 is the highest level of women's hockey in Sydney. Games are played all over Sydney, including some at our home ground, but our players often carpool for away games.

We enter 6 teams in the Sydney Eastern Hockey Association (SEHA Women's) competition across all grades. The majority of games are played at our home field at Daceyville and Kyeemagh, with some games at Bankstown, Cumberland (Lidcombe), Cintra (Burwoord) and Sutherland.

We currently provide a player pathway up to our high performance teams.  We cater for all levels from beginners, returning players, social players through to the top grades.

The below is an indication of grades for 2024 but the standard and split will often overlap and vary year to year.

2. ML2
3. ML3

Middle Grades
