Working with Children Check (WWC)
NSDSA requires all officials, including coaches, managers, and scorers, of a team with a junior member to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.
No official will be permitted to participate in any Club or Association activity unless their Working with Children (WWC) clearance number is provided by their Club representative to the NSDSA Registrar no later than 3 days prior to their participation in any competition or event. Providing this number to the NSDSA Registrar confirms that the Club representative has checked and verified that the WWC number is valid and that the official is legally cleared to work with children.
Application Process
There are two steps involved in obtaining a WWC clearance:
- Apply through the link below to obtain an application (APP) number: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-working-children-check
- Attend a Service NSW Office with the APP number and proof of identity (i.e., driver’s licence). You will be provided with a WWC number.
Online Training
All managers, coaches and assistant coaches of junior teams must also complete the “Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction” which can be found online at:
