OUR COMMITMENT
Calisthenics Buderim is committed to:
- Promoting the safety, wellbeing and cultural safety of all children and young people

This commitment reflects the Queensland Child Safe Standards and the Universal Principle, which requires organisations to provide culturally safe environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
CULTURAL SAFETY
We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we operate. Calisthenics Buderim is committed to creating culturally safe environments where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and community members feel respected, welcomed and valued. We understand that if an organisation is not culturally safe, it is not child safe.
We aim to reflect this commitment through:
- Respectful communication, language and representation
- Acknowledgement of Country at events and in club communications
- Valuing diversity and promoting inclusion
- Opportunities for committee members, coaches and volunteers to build cultural awareness and understanding
- Ongoing reflection and improvement in how we support children and families from all backgrounds
CHILDREN’S VOICES
We believe children and young people should be informed about their rights, encouraged to speak up, and taken seriously.
We are committed to helping children feel safe to ask questions, share concerns and participate in decisions that affect them. We aim to communicate in ways that are age-appropriate, respectful and easy to understand.
Children and young people are encouraged to tell a trusted adult if something does not feel right.
FAMILIES AND COMMUNITY
Child safety is a shared responsibility.
We are committed to keeping families informed about our child safety approach and providing clear information about our policies, expectations and complaint pathways. We value families and carers as important partners in promoting child safety and wellbeing. We aim to communicate openly and respectfully with our club community and to ensure our child safety information is visible and accessible.

- A Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
- A Code of Conduct for coaches, volunteers, committee members and families
