Our History
- OUR FOUNDERS -
Calisthenics Buderim Inc. (formerly known as Buderim Calisthenics) was co-founded in 1994 by three dedicated women,
Robyn Bartlett, Lyndy Tolliday, and Melanie Mitchell.
Within just three years, the club had grown to more than 100 participants, led by principal coaches Robyn, Lyndy, and Melanie. Remarkably, in its very first year, Calisthenics Buderim’s Sub-Juniors went on to win the Queensland State Teams Champion Title, setting the tone for the club’s competitive success.
A particularly proud moment came in 2004, when Calisthenics Buderim achieved the outstanding result of winning all five age groups at the Queensland State Championships. Following this milestone, Robyn, Lyndy, and Melanie chose to hand the leadership of the club over to a committee, ensuring its sustainability and growth for future generations.
Even today, our co-founders remain actively involved as mentors, guiding and supporting our younger coaches, and continuing to share their expertise through coaching items across Teams, Solos, Duos, and Gracefuls.
Calisthenics Buderim would not be where it is today without the vision and commitment of Robyn, Lyndy, and Melanie. We thank them sincerely for their ongoing dedication and for the strong foundation they built, a legacy that continues to shape our club’s success and spirit.
