Eliza Ramsden 150th anniversary dive
Event information
This event is full.
The Eliza Ramsden, a three-masted iron sailing barque with a clipper bow, is one of Victoria's most spectacular shipwreck sites. Sunk July 1875 after just one year in service.
We plan to dive the Eliza Ramsden wreck on Saturday 26th July to mark the 150 years since she sank.
There are two boats available for this event.
We will lodge plans with the harbourmaster in for both Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th in case we are cancelled by poor weather or shipping. It is close to the shipping channel and we must adhere to all of the harbour master directives. The exact departure time will depend on shipping advice closer to the day of the event.
This is not a very deep wreck, but we insist divers have at least a 30m Deep qualification and more than 100 dives logged to attend this excursion.
We will have a photographer on board gathering footage for a documentary about the Eliza Ramsden. Anyone prepared to capture some underwater video footage for the documentary would be very much appreciated!
