Code of Conduct

2026

Our society expects high standards of behaviour from all people involved in sport, whatever the capacity in which they are involved - athletes, coaches, officials, parents, spectators, volunteers, officials and/or administrators.

It is vital these expectations are met and the integrity of sport maintained.Regardless of the nature of a person’s involvement in sport, the essence of Australian Sport provides four guiding principles that lead to appropriate behaviour: Fairness, Respect, Responsibility and Safety. The following Codes of Behaviour reflect and uphold these principles and provide guidance as to the behaviour expected of SFSC members.

General SFSC Member Code of Conduct – All Members

1.Operate within the rules and spirit of the sport, promoting fair play over winning at any cost.

2.Legal Guardians, please ensure that you encourage your child to have fun, participate and

give their best to this sport. It is not about winning at all costs.

4.Treat each person as an individual and how you would like to be treated.

5.Display control and courtesy to all involved with sport, ensuring that your decisions and

actions contribute to a safe environment for everyone.

6.Respect the rights and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural

background or religion.

7.Respect the decisions of officials, coaches and administrators in the conduct of the sport.

Legal guardians should model this behaviour for their skater.

8.Wherever practical, avoid unaccompanied and unobserved one-on-one activity (when in a

supervisory capacity or where a power imbalance will exist) with people under the age of

18 years (a child), without explicit approval from a child’s parental guardian.

9.Adopt appropriate and responsible behaviour in all interactions ensuring that you do not

display or tolerate harmful, abusive, intimidatory or otherwise unacceptable behaviour thatcould be seen to bring yourself or SFSC into disrepute.

to attack, ridicule or object to SFSC or SFSC rules or policies.
