On the home front, the construction of our new rink is moving at an
excellent pace with several major milestones being hit:
Concrete & Steel: The concrete for the grandstand, plant room, change
rooms, multipurpose room, and balcony has now been completely
poured. All structural steel has arrived on site, and installation is well
underway. The steel rafters are being progressively installed, with this
phase expected to wrap up around Easter.
Roofing & Facade: New roofing works are expected to commence at
the front of the rink, following the steel progress in mid-March. We are
aiming for the roofing to be finished by mid-to-late April, with the
facade cladding to follow shortly after.
Refrigeration: Our new state-of-the-art refrigeration equipment is
currently on a boat from Canada and is expected to arrive in Sydney in
early April.
A MajorMilestone: Getting the roof and cladding on is a massive step
for the project, as it means the building will soon be ‘weather tight'
Once we reach this stage, the completion of the project will be firmly
within the control of the builder, safe from weather delays.
Power Reconnection: Our power reconnection has been officially
approved by AUSGRID. We are now actively interfacing with the Council
to secure the necessary approvals and gain access to the areas
currently controlled by the Aquatic Centre Project Builder so we can
undertake these vital connection works.
