I discovered the great game of Pickleball pretty much by accident. My stepdaughter stumbled across an online pickleball supplier and without ever even picking up a paddle herself, she bought her partner two paddles and a couple of pickleballs to add it to his Christmas stocking. By chance, the paddles came out one day while we were all on a family picnic. That’s technically the first time I tried pickleball. We didn’t even have a net, we were just having a hit and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to investigate more about the game and where I could play. I contacted my local club (Ryde PIP) and I received a very warm welcome for my first game. All I saw was friendly, happy, active people of all ages having great fun in the park on a Tuesday morning. I was hooked from day one!

I then decided that the sport was too special for me not to get involved in trying to help grow it, so I’m now the Membership Secretary at PANSW and have been for the past year and a half. Let me say that the uptake and growth of the game in this country is happening so fast that we can hardly keep up with the daily barrage of new inquiries. It’s really exciting.

I discovered pickleball late in 2018 and loved it. I've had the pleasure of being the Treasurer or Secretary of Noosa Pickleball Club since its establishment in 2019.

I've a long history in IT, starting in the 80's within the Depart of Defence, the late 90's working for Sun Microsystems and then in 2010's onwards with Oracle. Since the late 90's I've been focused on the online customer support process. This included the simplification of complex processes and ease of online use to create support tickets and use the online knowledge database to resolve issues.
