About us

The Pickleball Australia Association (PAA) is here to nurture the development and growth of pickleball Australia-wide. Our goal is to guide and support the development of pickleball across all states and territories and ultimately achieve official recognition as a National Sporting Organisation.

A not-for-profit, volunteer organisation, PAA is committed to promoting social and competitive playing environments nationwide, maintaining the official rules of the sport, and upholding the worldwide code of conduct for all pickleball athletes. PAA resources will be focused on supporting organisations that foster the sport for all ages and ability levels.

Utilising a unitary model of governance will ensure PAA maintains a skill-based board, focused on standardised growth and development of the sport across Australia and working for their stakeholders, State/Territory members, their affiliated clubs and individual members.

The nurture of a national network of affiliated state associations, clubs and individual members supporting the growth across Australia of social and competitive play; with development of respected structure of accreditation for coaches, trainers and players; while providing ongoing support service packages for expansion.

Based around the SPIRIT of pickleball, the PAA values focus on: 

Sportsmanship - competition is encouraged and celebrated with respect for players, adherence to rules and the fun and laughted endemic in gameplay, central to successful performance.

Inclusivity - access to the game for all ages, genders and ability levels with attention to those who might be exlcuded or marginalised. 

Responsibility - our committment to effectively guide the development of pickleball and our obligation to Australia communities.
