Learn to Sail
Oxley Sailing Club is an accredited Discover Sailing Centre offering recognised Discover Sailing courses that are run by qualified Instructors and Assistant Instructors.
When courses are scheduled they will appear in the Calendar (use the List view).

Tackers is a fun, games-based program aimed at children aged 7 to 12 years.
Tackers 1 - Having Fun
Introduces kids to boats and builds confidence through fun games and activities. Kids sail in pairs in small, durable boats and make new friends.
Tackers 2 - Tips & Tricks
Once they're confident, kids learn to sail one-up with plenty of supervision and support from our Instructors and Assistant Instructors.
Tackers 3 - Sailing Fast
This is a chance for the kids to sail boats on their own, learning how to make the boat go faster and playing more games, all whilst still under the guidance and supervision of the Instructor and Assistant Instructors.
At OSC we offer Tackers 1, Tackers 2 and Tackers 3 either as school holiday programs or over a series of Saturday mornings. Check the Calendar for our upcoming Tackers courses, where you will find additional details and links for registration, or email us to go on a waiting list.

What to bring
Kids will need a hat, sunscreen, long sleeved shirt or rashie, enclosed shoes that can get wet, waterbottle, towel and dry clothes to change into. We provide all equipment including life jackets.
Parents/guardians and families of participants are welcome to come along to watch the fun, see what the Tackers are learning and take part in club life.
Start Sailing 1 & 2
If you're looking to learn how to sail in a fun, safe and friendly environment, Start Sailing 1 & 2 is a great introduction to dinghy sailing for adults and kids over 12.
Aimed at beginners, this course teaches fundamental boat handling and essential safety skills with no experience necessary. Start Sailing 1 & 2 is run by our qualified Instructors and Assistant Instructors using our fleet of Pacer dinghies.
