About

Oxley Sailing Club is a friendly, volunteer-run club situated on the beautiful Indooroopilly Reach of the Brisbane River at Chelmer. Our club has a long and proud history of sailing on the River that dates back to 1902.

We sail off-the-beach dinghies most Saturday afternoons from September through to April - check the calendar for details.

Visitors are welcome.

We sail:

• Lasers/ILCAs - a strict one design single hander, fast to rig and exciting to sail
• Impulses - a 4.0m lightweight single-hander
• O'Pen Skiffs (Bics) - a single handed junior class that's fast, fun and simple to rig
• Pacers - a 3.8m sloop rigged family dinghy, great for training and racing
• Ozi-Optis - highly durable polyethylene dinghies used for our Tackers programs; perfect for early instruction of 7 to 12 year-olds
• International Optimists - a pathway dinghy for our Tackers graduates to progress to competitive sailing
• "Allboats" - Any other sailing craft can race in the "Allboats" class.
