Learn and develop the basic skills of sailing while having fun on the water! Aimed at beginners, this course teaches fundamental boat handling and essential safety skills using our fleet of Pacer dinghies. No prior sailing experience is necessary, however participants should be water confident.

This course runs over four Sunday afternoons from 12.00 to 5.00pm, and is delivered by qualified Instructors / Assistant Instuctors.

After completing the course, participants receive three boat hires and membership for the remainder of the season FREE!

Cost

• $400 per participant

What to bring

You will need a hat, sunscreen, comfortable sunsafe clothing, enclosed shoes that can get wet, and a water bottle. We also recommend a towel and dry clothes to change into. OSC provides all equipment including life jackets.

Note on registering: 

You will need an active account with Australian Sailing to register for this event. If you have previously been issued with an Australian Sailing number, enter your details and select SUBMIT. Alternatively click SIGN UP. This will take you to the Membership tab where you should select NEW MEMBER. Enter your details on the following pages then select the membership category Course Participant and you will be guided through creating an Australian Sailing profile. Once you have created a profile, you will be redirected to complete the course registration and will become a temporary member of Oxley Sailing Club.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate.
