Player Clearance/Transfer Process
The above process is now done via the registration system. A player wishing to change clubs should start registering with the destination club prior to the start of the season (or their first game of the season), which will trigger the clearance/transfer process with all parties to the transfer being notified by email and asked to approve it on-line. Once all parties have approved the transfer, the player will be notified and then will be able to finalise their registration with the destination club. Players should allow at least 5 working days for this process, preferably longer.
The club you are leaving may temporarily put on hold the transfer until any fees owing have been paid, any club-owned equipment returned, and any player suspensions served.
Mid-season transfers (after a player has already registered with one club at the start of the season and then wishes to move to another club later during the season) have a different process. In this case an administrator from the destination club needs to manually request the transfer by logging into their club's portal and then going to "Transfers" (menu on left) then "Add transfer" and following the prompts.
Dual registrations
This is where a player is playing in more than one association. Register with your primary club and pay the required fees. Then start registering with the secondary club in the other association. This will trigger a permit approval process with all parties to the permit being notified by email and asked to approve it on-line. Once all parties have approved the permit, the player will be notified and then will be able to finalise their registration with the secondary club. Again, players should allow at least 5 working days for this process, preferably longer. HockeySA is one of the parties that approves permits between associations and all dual registrations will be approved by HockeySA until 12 pm the Friday preceding any competition. Any dual registrations commenced after 12 pm on a Friday will not be approved by HockeySA until the start of the following working week (Mon-Fri).
