General FAQ

General FAQ:

1. After buying membership and entry, do I get to go into the pool in Adelaide Aquatic whenever I want?

Unfortunately, your membership and entry only allows for you to train at the stated times of our training sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-7pm only. Adelaide Aquatic Centre is a public pool open to anyone so if you would like to swim there on your own, you can do so for a fee - payable to the centre at the reception desk at any given time they are open.

2. I have paid for a single entry for an upcoming training session, but I realised now I can't make it! What can I do?

This is absolutely no problem. We can take note that you have not attended the training session and transfer your paid entry to another future session.

3. What do I get with membership?

Membership fee pays for the lane hire and equipment. You also get a black AUSC silicone cap with your membership, and a discount on our AUSC hoodies.

As part of our membership, you will have purchased an Adelaide University Sport membership, which entitles you to many perks and benefits, listed here: https://www.adelaideunisport.com.au/play-sport/perks-and-partners/

4. Is Adelaide Uni Swimming Club a competitive, high-performance swimming club? Or is it more laid back?

We are a social, casual swimming club. We help our members improve their fitness, technique and times, and provide a safe space for creating a tight-knit swimming community. However, if you would like to compete you do have the option of participating in UniNationals - please let us know if you are interested!

5. I am currently a competitive swimmer and am looking to represent the Adelaide Uni Swimming Club at competitions. Is this possible?

Yes, you can join our club and train for the upcoming UniSport Nationals. If you are interested in competing at UniSport Nationals in Swimming, let us know and we can get you in touch with the high-performance programs coordinator at AUSport.

6. Do you cater for beginners at swimming?

Our club is currently unable to cater for beginners unfortunately. However, watch our socials as we may hold special events specifically for beginners to learn how to swim. To participate in our swimming sessions, we require that our swimmers are able to swim the basic techniques of the three strokes: freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke for 100m in a 25m pool non-stop. If you are unsure if you can meet the requirement, feel free to let us know, or come along to a session using our come and try offer to see how our sessions work!
