Getting Started in Sailing

Getting Started in Sailing

Wynnum Manly Sailing Club

Whether you’re new to sailing or visiting from another club, getting on the water at WMSC is easy.

Option 1: You Are a Member of Another Sailing Club

Skippers and crew who are current members of another Australian Sailing–affiliated club may participate in WMSC events.

You must have:
  • A current Australian Sailing Number
  • Membership in good standing at your home club
Not sure what your Australian Sailing number is? Look it up below.

Option 2: You’re New to Sailing or Visiting (SailPass)

If you are not currently a member of another sailing club, you can participate using SailPass — our introductory membership option.

Introductory members and guest crew must hold a valid Australian Sailing SailPass before participating.

 Register for a temporary SailPass

What Is SailPass?

SailPass gives you:

  • Casual membership of Australian Sailing
  • An Australian Sailing number (if you don’t already have one)
  • Eligibility to sail in up to 10 WMSC events within 12 months

Cost: $10–$20 per day, depending on the event

If you attend more than 10 events in a year, you are expected to join WMSC as a full member.
