Sunraysia Softball extends its heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to Judy, Michael, Rebecca and the extended Wade family on the passing of Peter this week. 

Peter’s name was synonymous with softball in the Sunraysia region, having coached club and Sunraysia representative sides for the better part of 40 years. 

He relished any chance to step onto the diamond - to coach, to umpire, to mark the lines or to support the game he loved, and his understanding of how to play ball was simply unmatched. 

Even once his coaching days were over, Peter’s characteristic deep tone could still be heard around the grounds as he took in the game he loved from the stands, never missing an opportunity to remind us all to “Swing the bat!”, “Don’t get under it!” and to “Be smart now.” 

Rest in peace, Pete. 

Your impact has been immeasurable. 

Saturdays simply won’t be the same.
