The Club

Steel City Hockey Club was formed after the amalgamation of Cavaliers Hockey Club (Men) and Checkers Hockey Club (Women) at the end of the 1976 season. In 1989 Steel City Hockey Club merged with Demons Hockey Club.

The WHA Legends Cup Rounds began in 2021 and are now held annually on a 3 year rotation between the 4 clubs.
The cups are named after major contributors to the individual clubs and the Whyalla Hockey Association.
