Two courses are on offer - the two day Dinghy Instructors course and the one day Dinghy Assistant Instructors course - details below;

1. Dinghy Instructor practical course (2 day; 22-23 August)

Course Overview
This course aims to teach effective techniques for theory and practical instructing with continuous feedback and support. Participants will learn how to deliver an Australian Sailing program at accredited Discover Sailing Centres.

Who should do this course? 
This course is for anyone looking to instruct an accredited program at a Discover Sailing Centre. It is designed for those committed to creating safe, fun, and inclusive environments while teaching the fundamental skills of their chosen discipline. 

Course Outcome  
This course aims to develop skills and knowledge in general instructing techniques, fundamental on-water skills, and safety management afloat. 

Pending your success of this course and meeting all instructor accreditation requirements, you will gain Australian Sailing accreditation.

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's Internationa Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. The learn more, click here

 

2. Dinghy Assistant Instructor (1 day; 22nd August)

Course Overview
This course aims to teach effective techniques for theory and practical instructing with continuous feedback and support. Participants will learn how to assist accredited Instructors to deliver an Australian Sailing program at accredited Discover Sailing Centres.

This course is for anyone looking to assist instructors to deliver an accredited program at a Discover Sailing Centre. It is designed for those committed to creating safe, fun, and inclusive environments while assisting to teach the fundamental skills of their chosen discipline. 

Course Outcome  
This course aims to develop skills and knowledge in general instructing techniques, fundamental on-water skills, and safety management afloat and work with Instructors to deliver programs. Assistant Instructors must always be under the guidance of an Instructor. 

Pending your success of this course and meeting all instructor accreditation requirements, you will gain Australian Sailing accreditation.
