SPASC want to help build skills and confidence in sailing for people new to the sport.

Funday Sundays are about getting you out on the water to practice, practice, practice under guidance from our accredited instructors and assistants.

Our aim is to builld your confidence so that you can progress next season to higher levels of sailing either at SPASC's friday twilights series during daylight savings or our saturday racing program.

You may have undertaken SPASC's Adult Learn to Sail course, or a similar course elsewhere. Or you may have sailed in your past and taken a break for awhile - you recall the basics but need to reaquaint yourself with the actions - and the fun!

These days wont be about racing - they will be about building skills in boat handling and technique.

What we offer;

A chance to use SPASC club boats (mainly ILCA4's) to sail on Lake Mac near our clubhouse. Or you can bring your own boat along!

Attendees will get personal care and instruction from members of SPASC's Australian Sailing accredited Discover Sailing Centre training team.

When is it offerred;

Most sundays starting 8th February until 19th April 2026. We plan to run this program over a total of 8 sunday sessions over the 3 months

NOTE-WE WILL NOT BE RUNNING FUNDAY SUNDAYS ON THE 1ST MARCH OR THE 29TH MARCH DUE TO REGATTAS WE ARE HOSTING THOSE DAYS AND ARE ALSO NOT SAILING OVER EASTER.

Running 9am to 12pm pending conditions - attendees can come just for a few hours or the whole session - everyone helps setup and/or packup the boats.

What is the cost?

1. Firstly you need to me a member of the club so you have personal injury cover through the Australian Sailing. We have half season membership classes to cover this option. This is $110 for seniors and $55 for juniors. But hey, you might already be a member..
