Our Saturday Transition to Racing is designed for sailors who have completed the Green or Silver Fleet Program, or our Learn to Sail adult program, and / or can demonstrate the necessary sailing skills and competencies to begin to compete within a standard racing course.
There is no coaching permitted during the racing however there will be a coaching clinics before or after racing throughout the series. Onwater support is provided.
Sailors are expected to be competent, know the basic racing rules and have their own boat, although club boats will be available for charter pending demand/other requirements.
The program runs approximately between 1pm and 5pm each relevant Saturday.

Eligible classes: O’pen Skiff and Laser/ILCA4.
Eligible persons must be either SPASC Family, Senior or Junior members, so you need to join your children or yourself to the club as members FIRST before you attempt to register for this course. If you have multiple children doing courses it will be cheaper to join as a family group, single individual child can be junior member. As mentioned above the registration needs to be in their name as Australian Sailing tracks training by each individual not their parents.
A Junior Saturday Racing Program Fee is payable via this online registration. The costs are:
- $350.00 for full season per person using SPASC O’pen Skiff or Laser.
- $150 for full season per person where member owns a suitable boat.
Active Kids Vouchers
The NSW Government is helping kids get active with the new Active Kids program and Australian Sailing is an approved provider. From 31 January 2018, parents, guardians and carers can apply for a voucher valued up to $100 per calendar year for each school-enrolled child. The voucher may be used with an approved activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities. Apply for your voucher online HERE

All boats sailing at SPASC need to have current insurance for third party personal and property damage.
PLEASE NOTE - SPASC is a volunteer run organisation with our membership providing their time and effort to keep our club thriving. As a parent(s) of a child undertaking one of our sailing courses,or a sailor yourself it is a condition that you will be occasionally able to assist with running aspects of the club. This may include assisting your child (and others) to manage boats into and out of the water, assist your child to set up and/or pack up and clean boats after use, assist in the canteen or on the bbq, volunteer at fundraising events and offer other general assistance in running the club as you may be able to. We need your involvement!
