2026 Training Sessions - Reminder

There have been changes to RAC training sessions for 2026 so we are posting a reminder, especially relevant for returning members who are used to what we did last year. The changes have been made to allow the coaches to provide more focused and beneficial sessions and not just be trying to manage everyone at the same time.

Wednesday training is a split session in 2026:
* 6-8 years session will be from 5.00-5.45pm. Activities will cover run, jump and throw.
* 9 years+ session will be from 5.30pm. Athletes are requested to arrive and commence warm-up by 5.30pm to be ready to start the session once the coaches finish with the younger age group. Experienced members are asked to assist in the warm-up.
 
For 9 years+, Mondays will focus on field event coaching, however there will still be track workouts for those who are not field athletes or want to finish the session with some running. (Nb. While the session time is 5.00-6.30pm, the majority of athletes will finish around 6pm). Wednesday sessions will be primarily track sessions.
 
And a reminder that your age group is determined by what age you turn in 2026. For example, if you have turned 8 this year already, you are in the 8yrs. But if you are 8 turning 9 later in the year, you are in the 9yrs. For older ages, U14s is those turning 12 and 13, U16 is those turning 14 and 15 etc.
