Queensland Walks

We are a community based organisation and the peak body for walking in Queensland.  We advocate for more walkable places so more Queenslanders choose to walk, run, roll or stroll. By joining or renewing your membership with Queensland Walks Incorporated, you agree to the following terms.

1. Purpose

Membership supports Queensland Walks’ mission to make walking in Queensland safer, easier, and more enjoyable for everyone.

2. Membership Types

Membership options may include:

• Friend of Queensland Walks, academic advisor, subscriber with free membership (non-voting)
• Individual
• Family
• Corporate, co-advocacy or Local Government partner.

Membership categories, fees, and benefits are listed on our website. 

3. Term and Renewal

Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of approval. Renewal reminders are sent before expiry. Membership benefits pause if renewal is not completed. 

4. Fees

Membership fees are payable in full at joining or renewal and are non-refundable, except in special circumstances. Fees may change annually. 

5. Member Rights and Responsibilities

Members can:

• Receive updates, newsletters, and event invitations
• Participate in Queensland Walks programs and campaigns
• Vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) as per our Constitution.

Members agree to:

Support the aims and values of Queensland Walks

• Act respectfully and lawfully at events and online and in interaction with our elected representatives, funding partners and government departments
• Be non-partisan in our advocacy
• Keep contact details up to date. 

6. Privacy

We collect and use personal information only for membership communication and administration, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy 

7. Ending Membership

Membership may end if:

• Fees remain unpaid
• A member resigns, or
• Conduct is inconsistent with Queensland Walks’ values or objectives. 

8. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated. The latest version will always be available on our website.
