Register for Walking Schools Community project

Join Queensland Walks Schools Community

  • Safer Active Schools
  • Safe Walks, Happy Kids
  • Kids Walk.

Every child deserves a safe, healthy and enjoyable journey to and from school.

The Walking Schools Community brings together schools, parents, carers, students, councils, health professionals, road safety advocates and community organisations who share a common goal: creating safer school streets and encouraging more children to walk, wheel and ride. The initiative focuses on positive behaviour change, community collaboration and practical solutions that make active travel the easy and enjoyable choice for families.

By joining the community, you'll gain access to resources, campaign updates, tools, case studies, events and opportunities to connect with others working to improve school travel safety. Together, we can identify barriers, share ideas, celebrate success stories and advocate for safer routes, better crossings, lower traffic speeds and more welcoming school environments for children and families.
