Become a Queensland Walks Volunteer

Would you like to help create safer, more welcoming streets for women and girls in your community?

Queensland Walks is inviting women to express their interest in a new volunteer pilot program. This is an opportunity to be part of a small, supported group helping to shape and deliver Safe Cities Night Walks in local neighbourhoods.

These walks are about more than just moving through a place, they’re about listening, sharing experiences, and working together to create streets where everyone feels safe and included.

As a volunteer, you’ll receive training and support to lead or assist with walks, while also sharing your ideas and insights in the development of the Queensland Walks volunteer program.

What’s involved?

  • Free training and ongoing support
  • Participation in a small, supported pilot program
  • Opportunities to share feedback and help shape the volunteer program as it evolves

Who can apply?

  • Women of all ages and backgrounds
  • People interested in improving safety and inclusion in their community
  • Willingness to take part in the Queensland Walks training and volunteer onboarding process
  • Interest in hosting or supporting a night walk in your local area

Register your interest

If this sounds like something you'd like to be part of, we'd love to hear from you.

Once you register, we’ll share more information about the program and next steps.
