Allocation of Teams

PRILHC will establish the number and composition of PRILHC teams to compete in the ILHQ SEQ Senior Competitive Leauge fairly and effectively, and in the best interests of the club and players. Playing inline hockey is a team sport that allows players to solidify current friendships but also gives them the chance to expand their friendship base with other players within the club. At different times playing inline hockey, they will encounter a wide variety of players. Our position on team allocation is an important part of the players development and transition to competitive inline hockey.

Allocation of teams will be guided by the following principles:

  • Allocation of teams will be based primarily on the ability and potential ability demonstrated by players.
  • Players should demonstrate an ability to cope with the demands of the division in which they are selected.
  • PRILHC will endevour to have a balanced group of players in playing positions in each team.

PRILHC Player Sub-commitee in conjuntion with the Head Coach and Executive, will select players for teams and prepare team lists based on grading and ILHQ requirements for competitive leagues.

ILHQ guidelines can be found here.

Training

PRILHC run weekly training sessions commencing at the start of each season. The sessions are held Tuesday from 8:15 to 9:45pm at SkateAway, Albany Creek. The sessions are instructed by qualified Dragons coaches.

Players must make every effort to attend training session each week. Each week, the coaches request that you advise of your attendnace at training sessions for planning purposes - this is typically managed through PR Dragons Competitive Seniors Traing and Development FaceBook group.

This varies from season to season pending rink hire costs, number of participants, number of games and training sessions. If you wish to apply for dispensation, a request must be made to the PRILHC Executive before the commencement of the season. Dispensation is provided at the discretion of PRILHC.

It is mandatory for jerseys and cover pants to be worn by players at all times during PRILHC club activities on the rink (it is not mandatory for goalkeepers to wear cover pants). It is strongly recommended that senior competitive players do not wear their competitive uniform for training. Full senior competitive uniform must be worn on game days, with cover pants in good condition with no holes. Competitive uniforms are available for purchase at the PRILHC shop.
